How to Add Birds to Photos in Photoshop?


Step 1: Open any photo or image with birds flying. Click Here to download example photo.

Step 2: Click on the Lasso Tool in the toolbar and draw a lasso selection of flying birds.

Step 3: Choose Edit > Copy to copy the currently selected content to the clipboard.

Step 4: Open any photo or image where birds to be added.

Step 5: Choose Edit > Paste to paste a cut or copied selection of birds as a new layer.

Step 6: Choose Select > Color Range to select a specific range of colors.
• Click on the image to sample a color that defines the selection of area around birds, so that birds are not included in selection and rest of the image is selected.

Click OK to apply the changes.

Step 7: Choose Layer > Layer Mask > Reveal Selection to reveal the Selection via Layer Mask.

Step 8: Choose Image > Adjustments > Invert to invert the colors of the image.

Step 9: Select "Background" in the Layers Panel.

Step 10: Choose Layer > New > Layer via Copy to create a layer from copied data.

Step 11: Drag the Selected Layer to top over birds layer.

Step 12: Select Hue from the drop-down menu for Blend Mode, so that birds color blends with background color.

Step 13: Select masked layer from birds layer and remove extra birds by painting with black brush.

Step 14: Select birds layer and Choose Edit > Free Transform to apply one or more transformations (move, rotate, scale, skew, distort, perspective). Drag the corner handles to scale and rotate the selection. Press Enter to finish.

Step 15: Choose Layer > Merge Visible to merge all visible layers into one.

Step 16: Hit OK and Save.
